This club is taught utilising American Sign Language with closed captioning to allow students who are Deaf or hard of hearing access to fun, interactive and engaging content. Sign up for a little bit of everything from acting all the way to yoga! Your exciting hands-on curriculum aligns with foreign language standards instructed in conjunction with the New York State Standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ASL is a natural language that serves as the predominant sign language of Deaf communities in the United States and most of Anglophone Canada. It is a complete and organised visual language that is expressed by facial expression as well as movements and motions with the hands. Its users range from 250,000 to 500,000 persons. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

At Gooroo, we’re big believers in accessible education. The addition of this new club sets us further down the path of providing hands-on standards-based learning to all. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Angela is a qualified Sign Language Interpreter with a passion for creativity and teaching. With 10 years of American Sign Language experience, she will guide you through exploring various creative outlets via the visual language of ASL.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
