Questions are arising like: What will my commute be like? Where will I sit? And, what will I wear? In today\u2019s blog, we\u2019ll define what business casual is and how to stay in line with this dress code.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-what-is-business-casual\">What is Business Casual?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>While rather ambiguous in its definition, business casual is a Western dress code that embodies a relaxed-yet-smart style. It is not clothing you would wear to a party or the gym, but it\u2019s also not a full suit-and-tie outfit. Most importantly, it\u2019s about looking approachable and professional.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-how-to-dress-it\">How to Dress It<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Generally business casual outlines:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>NO<\/strong> jeans, shorts, or short dresses or skirts<\/li><li><strong>OPTIONAL <\/strong>tie<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Certain guidelines can vary depending on your gender. Here is a brief run down on how to prepare your outfits for the work place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"709\" height=\"452\" src=\"https:\/\/gooroo-blog.s3.us-east-1.amazonaws.com\/2021\/04\/08112101\/adeolu-eletu-wN3iop4-j3A-unsplash.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1746\" srcset=\"https:\/\/gooroo-blog.s3.us-east-1.amazonaws.com\/2021\/04\/08112101\/adeolu-eletu-wN3iop4-j3A-unsplash.jpg 709w, https:\/\/gooroo-blog.s3.us-east-1.amazonaws.com\/2021\/04\/08112101\/adeolu-eletu-wN3iop4-j3A-unsplash-300x191.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 709px) 100vw, 709px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h4 id=\"h-business-casual-for-men\">Business Casual for Men<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><em>Have a range of button-downs and polo shirts.<\/em> Shorter sleeves might be allowed in warmer weather, but stick to longer arms if you can.&nbsp;<\/li><li><em>A well-cut blazer or jacket will add a professional touch without the need for a tie.<\/em> What\u2019s more, it can double up in its use for outside-of-work formal occasions.&nbsp;<\/li><li><em>Layering with a sweater or sweater-vest is a classic business casual look.<\/em> Plus, will help to keep you warm in the winter!<\/li><li><em>Slacks and chinos are the ideal option. <\/em>They keep in with the dress code standards and, like a blazer, are a very versatile item to have in your wardrobe.&nbsp;<\/li><li><em>In terms of footwear, loafers and dress shoes are the most appropriate.<\/em> Leave your sneakers and sandals at home!<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Colour wise, stick to neutral tones where you can. But, feel free to add in some more vibrant hues if it feels appropriate to your workplace. However, here are some staples that are always tried and true:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><em>Keep your skirts and dresses to the knee.<\/em> Something comfortable and modest is the best bet.<\/li><li><em>An ironed blouse or button-down is always appropriate.<\/em> Going for a neutral colour will make them easier to pair with other items.<\/li><li><em>Like for men, blazers are an excellent staple to own<\/em>. Pick a colour that works with as many outfits as possible.&nbsp;<\/li><li><em>Pants that are tailored or wide-legged are the best bet.<\/em> As are chinos or suit pants.<\/li><li><em>Footwear should be closed-toe but can range from heels to flats to loafers.<\/em> Similarly to men, sneakers and sandals are generally a no-go.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Women have the option to be a little more adventurous with their business casual colour schemes. Soft pastels are always a good bet for a little flair of colour, or perhaps you\u2019d like to try a fun jewel-toned trouser!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 id=\"h-dos-and-donts\">Dos and Donts<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>DON\u2019T <\/strong>wear jeans. However, if your office allows them, stick to dark-washed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>DO<\/strong> choose clothes that fit well and make you look professional.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>DON\u2019T <\/strong>wear items that don a lot of logos.
